You pay for the space used and, with some providers, for data downloaded. The figure depends on data volume, retention and the pricing of the chosen provider, so we calculate it before you start. Costs only run away where nobody has set automatic expiry of old copies, which is why we configure it on day one.

No. Our providers operate inside the Union and your documentation names the exact region. Customer and employee details end up in almost every backup, so moving them to a third country would need an additional legal basis under the GDPR. It is simpler to avoid it altogether.

Not when things are set up properly. We encrypt on your side and the key never leaves the company. The flip side is that a lost key makes the backup useless, so key storage is described separately in the documentation and we check it at every test.

Your key servers come up as cloud VMs hosted in Europe, and staff carry on from home through a secure link. Which system starts first and how long each takes is agreed beforehand, in a recovery plan we prepare together with you.
