A data processing agreement with your cloud provider is in your own interest. Under GDPR your company remains the controller of customer data, while the facility processes it. Before migrating we review the provider's processing terms, storage location and sub-processors; the entry in your record of processing activities is best agreed with your DPO.
We plan migrations so nobody sits idle waiting for systems. The cut-over itself is usually short, and the old setup stays in reserve.
We measure real resource usage and hunt for traps: licences tied to a USB dongle, fiscal printers, scans saved to a local drive. Far better to find them now than on Monday morning.
The server goes up in the chosen cloud, data is copied across and two or three colleagues try it out, while everyone else carries on with the old system untouched.
The final sync, DNS change and new desktop shortcuts happen in the evening or at the weekend. The old server stays powered on in case a step back is needed.
After the cut-over we track load and right-size the machine. After that the environment moves into routine administration and you can retire the old hardware.
Usually, yes. Some cloud providers and data centres offer locations in Poland, and we check which services are available there before choosing. We also use facilities elsewhere in the Union. When a client, a public buyer or sector rules require in-country storage, we pick a Polish location and record it in your documentation.
It can be, if data is kept in an EU region and the provider has signed processing terms and offers a proper basis for data transfers. The assessment is best done with your DPO. For particularly sensitive material, such as patient records, we consider a provider headquartered in the Union, which makes answering patients and the Polish data protection authority simpler.
The provider handles electricity, networking and hardware. Everything inside the operating system, meaning updates, configuration, backups and monitoring, is on us, either as part of a support plan or billed at PLN 190/hour excl. VAT.
Not always. With steady, predictable demand and a working server room, owned kit can come out ahead over five years. The cloud wins when a company is growing, has seasonal spikes or works remotely. We cost both routes honestly before you order anything.
Yes. Provider accounts and contracts are opened in your company's name, and data is kept in portable formats. On request we hand over disk images and database dumps, so you can move to a different cloud or bring everything back in-house.
